Singapore Changi Sets November Passenger Record at 6.2 Million

Singapore Changi Airport reported a new monthly passenger record in November, processing 6.2 million travelers and surpassing pre-pandemic highs by 8%.

Growth concentrated in regional Southeast Asian markets, with Bangkok, Jakarta, and Kuala Lumpur routes showing particularly strong demand.

Capacity Expansion

Terminal 5 construction continues on schedule for 2030 completion, adding 50 million annual passenger capacity. Current infrastructure handles approximately 70 million passengers annually across four terminals.

Airlines have responded by deploying larger aircraft on key routes, with Singapore Airlines increasing A380 frequencies to Sydney and London.

Hub Competition

Changi maintains its position against regional competitors Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Kuala Lumpur, though all three hubs are expanding capacity aggressively to capture growing Asia-Pacific travel demand.
